Ara Raoul Parseghian (Armenian: Արա Ռաուլ Բարսեղյան; May 21, 1923 – August 2, 2017) was an American-Armenian football player and coach. Parseghian guided the University of Notre Dame to NCAA Division I national championships in 1966 and 1973. He was thought of being one of the best coaches in Notre Dame history.[1]
Parseghian died at his home in Granger, Indiana on the morning of August 2, 2017 from an infection caused after having hip surgery at the age of 94.[2]
