The 2016 presidential campaign of Bobby Jindal, the Governor of Louisiana, was formally launched on June 24, 2015. It's headquarters is in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Background
[change | change source]His candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election comes after years of speculation concerning a possible candidacy following the 2012 election. Jindal is the first Indian American and third Asian American to run for President of the United States.[2]
On November 17, 2015, Jindal officially suspended his presidential campaign, saying "this is not my time".[3]
Announcement
[change | change source]Jindal officially launched his campaign for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination on June 24, 2015 with an announcement via Twitter,[4] ahead of a planned formal announcement in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner later that day.
Polling
[change | change source]As of late July 2015, Jindal has been polling about 1.4 % of the Republican primary electorate.
