Clifford Leopold Alexander, Jr. (September 21, 1933 – July 3, 2022) was an American lawyer, businessman and politician. He was the first African-American Secretary of the Army. He served as Secretary of the Army from February 1977 to January 1981.[1][2]
Alexander Jr. died on July 3, 2022 in New York City from heart failure, aged 88.[3]
