Dave Lee Travis (born 25 May 1945), also known as DLT, is a British radio and television presenter. He was born in Buxton, Derbyshire. He started being a presenter for BBC Radio 1 in 1967. From 1981 to 2001, Travis presented A Jolly Good Show.

Travis married his wife Marianne in 1971.[1] He said he has cheated on her "once or twice".[2]

Sex offence charges

Travis was arrested on 15 November 2012 as part of Operation Yewtree, an investigation into sexual abuse by Jimmy Savile and other people.[3] Travis was on trial for 14 counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual assault. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.[4] Travis told police that if he had known Savile was a pedophile he would have reported him.[1] Travis was cleared of all but two charges on 13 February 2014. He was retried on those two charges and another charge. On 23 September 2014, he was convicted of one count of indecent assault.[5]
