Donald Jay Ohl (April 18, 1936 – December 2, 2024) was an American professional basketball player for 10 seasons (1960–1970) in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in Murphysboro, Illinois. Ohl played for the Detroit Pistons from 1960 to 1964, Baltimore Bullets from 1964 to 1968 and then for the St. Louis / Atlanta Hawks from 1968 to 1970. He went by the nickname of Waxie because of his short hair cut.[1]
Ohl was raised in Iowa, Peoria, Illinois and Edwardsville, Illinois. He studied at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Ohl died in St. Louis, Missouri on December 2, 2024, at the age of 88.[2]
