"Down" is the first single off American hard rock band Stone Temple Pilots' fourth studio album No. 4. The song was released on April 5, 1999. The song is also featured on STP's compilation albums Thank You and Buy This.
On the Billboard charts, Down was able to peak at #5 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart,[1] #7 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and at #9 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.[2]
In 2001, the song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards but it lost to "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine.[3]
