Eric Tradd Schneiderman (born December 31, 1954) is an American lawyer and politician. He was the 65th Attorney General of New York from 2011 to 2018. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Schneiderman served for a decade in the New York State Senate, elected five times.
On May 7, 2018, four women publicly said that Schneiderman had physically abused them during his tenure as Attorney General. Schneiderman did not deny the allegations and stated their sexual acts were consensual.[1] He resigned that day, effective the next day.[2]
