The Kbk wz. 1988 (Carbine Model 1988) Tantal is an assault rifle produced in Poland in the late 80s. It was produced from 1989 to 1994, and only 25,000 were made. It is based on the Soviet AK-74 and shares many of the parts with the latter. The Polish army adopted it in 1991
It fires the same ammunition as the AK-74 (the 5.45×39mm), It has a curved 30-round magazine and a and a folding steel stock. It can fire in continuous bursts, shot by shot and three-shot bursts.
