Frederick Shelton Hubbell (born April 25, 1951) is an American politician and businessman. He was the Democratic nominee for Governor of Iowa in the 2018 Governors' election.[1]
Before running for office, Hubbell was the chairman of the Younkers department stores in the 1980s. He was also President of Equitable of Iowa.
On July 17, 2017, Hubbell declared his candidacy for the Governor of Iowa.[2] On November 14, 2017, the Iowa Starting Line released a poll showing Fred Hubbell leading the Democratic primary.[3]
Hubbell got 55% of the vote in the Democratic primary to become the party's nominee for Governor of Iowa.[4] However, he lost the general election to Kim Reynolds.
