Doroteo Gerardo N. Alanguilan, Jr. (20 January 1968 – 21 December 2019) was a comic book artist in the Philippines.[1][2][3] Also he was a writer and architect.[4]
He was active in the 1990s and early 2000s.[5]
Gerry Alanguilan was born on January 20, 1968, in San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines.[6]
In 1984, he started to study in the University of Santo Tomas. In 1989, he became a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the College of Architecture and Fine Arts.[7]
In 1986, he made first submissions to Marvel and to DC Comics.[8]
His first comic was Wasted.[9] It was published during July 1994-1996 in Philippines and Alanguilan became popular in the USA.[10][11]
In the 1990s, Gerry Alanguilan was an inker for many American comic book titles and worked with Image Comics.[12]
In 1997, he started to work with Marvel.
In 2006, miniseries Elmer was published.[13]
In 2007-2009, TIMAWA appeared in Buzz Magazine.[14]
In 2011 Alanguilan with Arnold Arre created a concept piece "Darna Lives!".[15]
In 2014, the graphic novel Rodski Patotski was written.[16]
In 2017, Alanguilan published "Bakokak" with Kevin Ray Valentino.[17]
