In pro wrestling, the independent circuit or indy circuit refers to the many wrestling shows that are much smaller than major wrestling companies, like WWE, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and Impact Wrestling. Some popular "indy promotions" in recent decades have been Ring of Honor (ROH), which is now owned by AEW CEO Tony Khan; CHIKARA, which folded in 2020; Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA), which folded in 2015; Major League Wrestling (MLW), and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
