Jon Ola Norbom

Jon Ola Hauger Norbom (15 December 1923 – 12 April 2020) was a Norwegian economist and politician. He was a member of the Liberal Party. He served in the cabinets of Prime Ministers Per Borten and Lars Korvald. From 1950 to 1952, he was the leader of the Young Liberals of Norway, the youth wing of the Liberal Party. He was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 1967 to 1969, and was Minister of the Finance from 1972 to 1973. He never held any elected political office.[1]

Norbom was born in Bærum. In 1942, during World War II, Norbom was a prisoner at Grini concentration camp for a short time. He was later imprisoned at Buchenwald concentration camp.

Norbom died in Suwanee, Georgia, United States on 12 April 2020. He was 96.[2]
