Kwame Dawes is a poet born in Ghana in 1962.[1]
Dawes was raised in Jamaica. He now lives in Nebraska where he is the editor of Prairie Schooner.
His poetry relates to the Reggae music. He wrote a book called Bob Marley: Lyrical Genius (2007).[2]
His poetry books include: Wisteria: Poems From the Swamp Country (2006), Impossible Flying (2006), Back of Mount Peace (2009), Hope’s Hospice (2009), Wheels (2011), Duppy Conqueror: New and Selected Poems (2013), and City of Bones: A Testament (2017).[3]
Dawes also reported on HIV/AIDS in Jamaica and Haiti after the earthquake (2012).[4]
