Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani (Persian: لطفالله صافی گلپایگانی; February 20, 1919 – February 1, 2022) was one of the most senior Twelver Shia Marja. He was a supporter of the Islamic revolution in Iran.
In 2012 he became widely known for his fatwa calling for the death of rapper Shahin Najafi for apostasy.[1]
Golpaygani died in Qom, Iran on 1 February 2022 from cardiac arrest at the age of 102.[2]
