Luzius Wildhaber

Luzius Wildhaber (18 January 1937 – 22 July 2020) was a Swiss judge. He was born in Basel. He was the first President of the European Court of Human Rights. Wildhaber was elected on 24 July 1998, and was in the office from 1 November 1998 to 18 January 2007.

He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea in 1989.[1]

Wildhaber died on 22 July 2020, aged 83.[2]
