Matt Harvey (born March 27, 1989)[1] is an American professional baseball player. He is a pitcher for the New York Mets. He joined the Mets in 2010 after he finished school.

Harvey spent two years pitching in the minor leagues before going to the Mets in July 2012. In his first year, he had 3 wins and 5 losses with a 2.75 ERA. In the 2013 season, his pitching improved. He was the starting pitcher in the all star game at Citi Field, his home stadium.

In August of 2013, Harvey's arm was injured. The injury caused him to miss all of 2014. He returned to play in 2015. Due to a planned surgery he will not play the 2017 season.[2]
