Oskar Lindblom (born 15 August 1996) is a Swedish professional ice hockey left winger. He plays for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has also played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks.
Before playing in the NHL, Lindblom played eleven seasons with Brynäs IF and their junior teams. He was selected 138th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. On 30 May 2017, he would sign a three-year, entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.[1] He would sign a three-year, $9 million extension to stay with the Flyers.[2]
On 22 July 2022, Lindblom had his contract bought out by the Flyers. This move was criticized by media.[3] The Flyers said that along with the buyout, they would be donating $100,000 in Lindblom's name to an organization which helps families that are impacted by cancer.[4]
On 13 July 2022, Lindblom decided to sign a two-year, $5 million contract to join the San Jose Sharks.[5]
On 8 May 2024, Lindblom signed a two-year contract to rejoin his original team Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).[6]
He was born in Gävle, Sweden.
On 13 December 2019, Lindblom was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.[7] He completed chemotherapy on 2 July 2020.[8]
