Panfilo "Ping" Morena Lacson Sr. (Tagalog pronunciation: [ˈlakson]; born June 1, 1948) is a Filipino politician and former police general. He became a Senator of the Philippines in 2016. He has also been a Senator from 2001 to 2013. He was the Director General of the Philippine National Police (PNP) from 1999 to 2001.
He was a candidate for President of the Philippines in the 2004 presidential election.[2] He unsuccessfully ran for president again in 2016, he later decided to run for the senate. Lacson unsuccessfully ran for president again in the 2022 election as an independent candidate.[3]
