Ricou Browning (February 16, 1930 – February 27, 2023) was an American director, actor, producer, screenwriter, underwater cinematographer and stuntman. He was best known for his underwater stunt work, playing the Gill-man in Creature from the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature and The Creature Walks Among Us. He was the last surviving original actor to play any of the Universal Classic Monsters. Browning also co-created Flipper.[2]
Browning directed the underwater sequences in 1965's Thunderball, the fourth James Bond movie by Eon Productions.[3]
Browning died on February 27, 2023 at his home in Southwest Ranches, Florida at the age of 93.[4]
