It was recorded as a traditional blues standard lyrics and was covered by Lead Belly, Chuck Willis, LaVern Baker, Elvis Presley, The Animals, Eric Burdon and Old Crow Medicine Show. It was received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 2004.
