Shalom Cohen (27 October 1931[1] – 22 August 2022) was a leading Sephardi rabbi. He was born in Jerusalem and was the rosh yeshiva of the Old City branch of Porat Yosef Yeshiva and the spiritual leader of the Shas political party.
He was a member of the party's Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah rabbinic council from 1984 until his death.[1] At the time of his death, he was the party's oldest member.[2]
Cohen died on 22 August 2022 in Jerusalem at the age of 91.[3]
