Syed Ali Shah Geelani (29 September 1929 – 1 September 2021) was an Indian Kashmiri separatist leader and politician. He was a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from 1972 until 1982 and again from 1987 until 1990. Geelani was born in Bandipore, Jammu and Kashmir. He was a member of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Geelani died on 1 September 2021 at a hospital in Srinagar, India ​from pneumonia caused by kidney cancer, aged 91.[5]
