James Timothy McCarver (October 16, 1941 – February 16, 2023) was an American sportscaster and professional baseball catcher. McCarver played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos, and Boston Red Sox between 1959 and 1980.[1]
McCarver died of heart failure in Memphis, Tennessee on February 16, 2023, exactly four months after his 81st birthday.[2][3]
