புலம்பெயர் இலங்கையர் என்பது இலங்கையிலிருந்து வெளி நாடுகளுக்குச் சென்று வசிப்போரைக் குறிக்கின்றது. இவ்வாறு வசிப்போரின் எண்ணிக்கை 3 மில்லியன் எனக் கணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

வெளிநாட்டுத் தொழிலாளர்கள்

இலங்கையின் வெளிநாட்டுத் தொழிலாளர்கள் நாட்டுக்கான பெறுமதியான ஏற்றுமதியாகக் கொள்ளப்படுகின்றனர். வெளிநாட்டுத் தொழிலாளர்கள் எண்ணிக்கை வளர்ந்தும் அவர்கள் அனுப்பும் பணம், பொருள் என்பன அதிகரித்தும் காணப்பட்டன. 2009 இல் $3.3 பில்லியனை இலங்கைக்கு அனுப்பினர். இது அதன் முன்னைய வருடத்தில் அனுப்பிய $400 மில்லியனைவிட அதிகமாகும். 2010 இல் 1.8 மில்லியன் இலங்கையர் வெளிநாட்டுத் தொழிலாளர்களாக வேலை செய்தனர்.[22]
