மஹர்
மஹர் (Mahar) எனப்படுவோர் இந்திய மாநிலமான மகாராஷ்ட்ரா பகுதியிலும் வாழும் ஒரு சாதியினர் ஆவார்[1][2].மஹர் இனத்தவர்களின் தாய்மொழி மராத்தி ஆகும்[3] .மஹர் சமூகத்தினர் சுமார் 16 இந்திய மாநிலங்களில் பட்டியல் இனத்தவர்களாக உள்ளனர்.இவர்கள் சத்திரபதி சிவாஜி மகாராஜ் படையில் படை வீரர்களாக இருந்துள்ளனர்[4] [5]. அம்பேத்கரின் வழிகாட்டுதலில் படி மஹர் சமூகத்தினர் பௌத்தம் சமயம் பின்பற்றினர்[6][7]. மகாராஷ்ட்ரா மக்கள் தொகையில் சுமார் 9 % மஹர் சமூகத்தினர் உள்ளனர்[8]
