అంతరిక్ష శాఖ

భారతీయ అంతరిక్ష కార్యక్రమ నిర్వహణకు బాధ్యత వహించే భారత ప్రభుత్వ విభాగం, అంతరిక్ష శాఖ (డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్ ఆఫ్ స్పేస్ DOS).[1] ఇది అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధన, అంతరిక్ష సాంకేతికతలకు సంబంధించిన అనేక ఏజెన్సీలు & ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌లను నిర్వహిస్తుంది. DoS కింద భారతీయ అంతరిక్ష కార్యక్రమాన్ని దేశ సామాజిక-ఆర్థిక ప్రయోజనాల కోసం అంతరిక్ష శాస్త్రం & సాంకేతికత అభివృద్ధి ప్రోత్సహించడం కోసం ఉద్దేశించారు. దీనికి రెండు ప్రధాన ఉపగ్రహ వ్యవస్థలున్నాయి. కమ్యూనికేషన్, టెలివిజన్ ప్రసారం & వాతావరణ సేవల కోసం ఇన్‌శాట్ కాగా, వనరుల పర్యవేక్షణ, నిర్వహణ కోసం భారతీయ రిమోట్ సెన్సింగ్ ఉపగ్రహాల (IRS) వ్యవస్థ. ఇది IRS & INSAT తరగతి ఉపగ్రహాలను కక్ష్యలో ఉంచడానికి రెండు ఉపగ్రహ ప్రయోగ వాహనాలైన ధ్రువీయ ఉపగ్రహ ప్రయోగ వాహనం (PSLV) & జియోసింక్రోనస్ శాటిలైట్ లాంచ్ వెహికల్ (GSLV) లను కూడా అభివృద్ధి చేసింది.

చరిత్ర

భారత ప్రభుత్వం 1961 లో అప్పటి ప్రధాని జవహర్‌లాల్ నెహ్రూ అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధన & బాహ్య అంతరిక్షాన్ని శాంతియుతంగా ఉపయోగించుకునే బాధ్యతను హోమీ జె. భాభా నాయకత్వంలో డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్ ఆఫ్ అటామిక్ ఎనర్జీ (DAE)కి అప్పగించారు. 1962లో డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్ ఆఫ్ అటామిక్ ఎనర్జీ (DAE) జాతీయ అంతరిక్ష కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహించడానికి విక్రమ్ సారాభాయ్ ఛైర్మన్‌గా ఇండియన్ నేషనల్ కమిటీ ఫర్ స్పేస్ రీసెర్చ్ (INCOSPAR)ని ఏర్పాటు చేసింది.

1969లో INCOSPAR ను ఇండియా నేషనల్ సైన్స్ అకాడమీ (INSA) క్రింద సలహా సంస్థగా పునర్నిర్మించి, భారతీయ అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధనా సంస్థ (ISRO) ను స్థాపించారు. భారత ప్రభుత్వం స్పేస్ కమీషన్‌ను ఏర్పాటు చేసి 1972 లో డిపార్ట్‌మెంట్ ఆఫ్ స్పేస్ (DoS)ను స్థాపించింది. ISROని 1972 జూన్ 1 న DoS కిందకి తీసుకువచ్చింది.

2022 జనవరి 15 న ఎస్. సోమనాథ్, కైలాసవడివు శివన్ తర్వాత సెక్రటరీ (స్పేస్) , ఇండియన్ స్పేస్ రీసెర్చ్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ & స్పేస్ కమీషన్ ఎక్స్-అఫీషియో చైర్మన్‌గా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టాడు. వందిత శర్మ శాఖ అదనపు కార్యదర్శి.[2]
