తెలుగు చోడులు
తెలుగు చోడులు లేదా తెలుగు చోళులు ప్రస్తుతం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, తెలంగాణా, దక్షిణ ఒడిషా ప్రాంతాన్ని పరిపాలించిన రాజవంశం.[1] వీరు కొద్ది కాలం పల్లవులకు, కొంత కాలం చోళులకు సామంతులుగా ఉన్నారు.[2][3] వీరు తమిళ సంగం యుగానికి చెందిన కరికాళ చోళుడి వారసులమని ప్రకటించుకున్నారు.[4]
రేనాటి చోడులు
[మార్చు]తెలుగు చోడులలో రేనాడు ప్రాంతాన్ని పరిపాలించిన రాజులను రేనాటి చోడులు అంటారు. ఈ ప్రాంతం ప్రస్తుతం కడప జిల్లాలో ఉంది. ఈ వంశ మూలాలు కడప జిల్లాకు చెందిన ఎరికాల్ (ప్రస్తుతం కమలాపురం, కడప జిల్లా) లో ఉన్నాయి.[5] రేనాటి చోడుల రాజ్యాన్ని గురించి సా.శ 7 వ శతాబ్దంలో చైనా యాత్రికుడైన యువాన్ చాంగ్ తన రచనల్లో వర్ణించాడు.[6]

Since they owed allegiance to the Chalukya-Cholas, they held the name 'Choda' as prefix in their names and as a mark of their respect towards their overlords.
