ลิวโคไซต์ อีลาสเตสอินฮิบิเตอร์ หรือ เซอร์ปิน บี1 (อังกฤษ: Leukocyte elastase inhibitor; LEI หรือ serpin B1) เป็นโปรตีนที่พบในมนุษย์ที่ถูกถอดรหัสได้จากยีน SERPINB1 บนโครโมโซมคู่ที่ 6 และจัดเป็นสมาชิกลำดับที่ 1 ในเคลดบี (โอแวลบูมิน) ของมหาวงศ์เซอร์ปิน^[5][6][7]

LEI ของมนุษย์มี Ortholog ที่พบในหนู คือ โมโนไซต์/นิวโตรฟิล อีลาสเตสอินฮิบิเตอร์ (monocyte/neutrophil elastase inhibitor; MNEI)^[7]

หน้าที่

ลิวโคไซต์ อีลาสเตสอินฮิบิเตอร์จัดเป็นสารต้านซีรีนโปรตีเอส (serine protease inhibitor) จากนิวโตรฟิลที่พบได้ในไซโทพลาซึม เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับซีรีนโปรตีเอสแต่ละชนิดแล้วพบว่า LEI จะมีฤทธิ์ยับยั้งที่จำเพาะต่อ นิวโทรฟิลอีลาสเตส, PR3 และ คาเทพซิน จี ซึ่งโปรตีเอสทั้ง 3 ชนิดนี้ล้วนพบได้ทั่วไปในแกรนูลของนิวโตรฟิล ทั้งนี้ จากการศึกษาพบว่า LEI ทำหน้าที่ช่วยลดการบาดเจ็บของเนื้อเยื่อที่อาจเกิดขึ้นได้ระหว่างกระบวนการอักเสบ ซึ่งเป็นผลมาจากเอนไซม์ซีรีนโปรตีเอสข้างต้น และยังมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อภาวะธำรงดุลของนิวโตรฟิลในหนูไมซ์ด้วย นอกจากนี้ การศึกษาในสัตว์ทดลองที่ติดเชื้อ (เช่น ปอดอักเสบ) พบว่า มีความสัมพันธุ์กันระหว่างการขาด LEI กับความสามารถในการกำจัดเชื้อจุลชีพของเนื้อเยื่อที่ติดเชื้อนั้นๆ จึงอาจพออนุมานได้ว่า LEI มีบทบาทสำคัญในการต้านเชื้อจุลชีพในสัตว์ทดลองดังกล่าว^[8][9][10]
