2011-yildan beri mukofot moliyaviy muammolar sababli toʻxtatilgan[3][4]. Oxirgi mukofot 2010-yilda berilgan[5].
Mukofot 1942-yilda Jane Oliver tomonidan 1940-yil 5-avgustda Royal Air Force (Qirollik havo kuchlari)da bombardimonchi uchuvchi boʻlib xizmat qilayotganda halok boʻlgan yosh yozuvchi John Llewellyn Rhys turmush oʻrtogʻining xotirasiga atab asos solingan.
1987-yildan 2003-yilgacha mukofot Mail on Sunday tomonidan moliyalashtirilgan. Gazeta 2002-yilda Mary Lavenga mukofot berilganidan keyin oʻz faoliyatini 2003-yilda toʻxtatgan. Keyinchalik, sovringa mustaqil taʼlim xayriya tashkiloti, BookTrust tomonidan homiylik qilingan, ammo 2011-yil iyun oyida moliyaviy muammolari tufayli mukofot berish toʻxtatilgan[6].
2010-yilda gʻolib 5000 funt sterling olgan boʻlsa, ikkinchi oʻrin egalarining har biri 500 funt sterlingdan olgan[7].
