战地考古学

战地考古学（英語：Battlefield archaeology）是考古学的一个分支学科，其主要通过研究战地的物质遗迹和地形以增进对曾发生过的冲突的了解[1]。考古的战地包括小规模冲突、围攻、营地和训练场。战地考古学对战争遗留物件的关系和背景的研究为历史书籍、诗歌或目击者的记录提供了另一种解释，因为后者可能参杂有对该事件的偏见，也可能只是有限视角内的狭隘记录。对这些地点的考察可以深入了解当时使用的战术、武器改装和战斗编队[2]。它与军事考古学（Military archaeology）或侦察学（即地面发现的恢复和非侵入性现场勘测）并无区别。
