查尔斯·克拉克(Charles M. Clarke)是专业从事于猪笼草属食虫植物的植物学家与分类学家。克拉克出生于澳大利亚墨尔本。他获得了墨尔本莫纳什大学(Monash University)的生物学荣誉学位,同时还在新南威尔士阿米代尔的新英格兰大学(University of New England)取得了生态系统管理博士学位。
克拉克第一次到婆罗洲研究猪笼草是在1987年。1989年至1990年,他生活在文莱以研究猪笼草属植物的生态问题。在这两次旅行间,克拉克还曾在昆士兰州的詹姆斯·库克大学(James Cook University)任教生态学和生物统计学,同时还在香港担任园艺顾问。
克拉克现就任于莫纳什大学马来西亚分校。[1]克拉克已完成了五本关于猪笼草属的著作,其中最重要的是《婆罗洲的猪笼草属植物》(Nepenthes of Borneo)和《苏门答腊岛与西马来西亚的猪笼草》(Nepenthes of Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia)。
克拉克描述了5个猪笼草属物种,分别为本斯通猪笼草(Nepenthes benstonei)、陈氏猪笼草(Nepenthes chaniana)、泉氏猪笼草(Nepenthes izumiae)、贾桂琳猪笼草(Nepenthes jacquelineae)和坚韧猪笼草(Nepenthes tenax)。
