格利澤486,又稱為Wolf 437,是一顆位於處女座的紅矮星。表面溫度約3340K。格利澤486的重元素濃度與太陽相似,金屬豐度Fe/H 指數約為0.07。它被懷疑是一顆耀星[7],儘管在2019年沒有發現任何耀斑[8]。這顆恆星的化學構成並不顯著,與太陽豐度或金屬含量略微一致[5]。
這顆恆星在色球層中有一個不起眼的磁場,約為1.6千高斯[6]。它自轉非常緩慢,很可能非常古老,在運動學上屬於古老的銀河系薄盤[9]。
截至2020年,未發現存在任何恆星伴星[10]。
2021年,在緊密的圓形軌道上發現了一顆名為格利澤486 b的行星[4]。它代表了一類罕見的岩石系外行星[11][12]。截至2022年,沒有檢測到以氫氣或蒸汽為主的大氣層,儘管具有較高分子量的二級行星大氣層仍有可能[13]。
2022年8月,這個行星系統被列入第三個IAU100太阳系外世界命名活动項目命名的20個系統中[14]。
