Dylan Reiss Mitchell (born 1 October 2005) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Leamington, on loan from Swindon Town.[4][5]

Career

[edit]

Born in Birmingham, Mitchell came through the Aston Villa academy, joining at under-13 level.[4][6] He signed a scholarship deal with Aston Villa in July 2022, aged 16.[7]

On 23 December 2023, Mitchell was loaned out to Southern League Premier Division Central club Alvechurch on a youth loan deal;[8] in February 2024 the loan deal was extended until the end of the season.[9] After making 25 appearances for Alvechurch, Mitchell returned to Aston Villa.[10] On 9 June 2024, after 12 years at Villa Park, Mitchell was released following the conclusion of his contract, along with seven other academy players.[11][12]

On 10 July 2024, Mitchell signed for EFL League Two club Swindon Town.[4][13][14] His professional debut for the club came on 13 August, in a 4–2 loss against Crawley Town in round one of the EFL Cup, in which he came on as a 71st–minute substitute for Joel Cotterill.[15][16] Mitchell's league debut came four days later when he came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Ollie Clarke in a 4–0 home defeat against Walsall.[17] [18]

On 22 November 2024, Mitchell joined National League North club Hereford on a one-month loan.[19] He scored on his debut one week later, in a 3–0 home league win against Rushall Olympic.[20] On 24 December, his loan was extended for a further month.[21]

On 31 July 2025, Mitchell joined National League South club Weston-super-Mare on a one-month loan.[22] In October he moved on loan to Leamington.[23][24]
