Julian DaCosta (born November 23, 2007) is an American professional auto racing driver who currently competes full-time in the ARCA Menards Series West, driving the No. 25 Toyota for Nitro Motorsports. Racing career

[edit]

DaCosta began his motorsport journey in BMX racing at the age of three, before moving to karting when he turned four.[1] He then spent ten years in karting before joining Mazda’s Spec Miata program in 2022.[1]

In 2023, DaCosta made his debut in the Mazda MX-5 Cup at VIRginia International Raceway and Road Atlanta for Hixon Motor Sports.[2] It was also during this year that he was selected as one of 12 drivers to compete in the Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout.[3]

In 2024, DaCosta ran full-time in the Mazda MX-5 Cup with BSI Racing.[4][5] Later on, he moved to JTR Motorsports Engineering.[6] He finished eighth in the championship with a best finish of second at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.[7][8] During this year, DaCosta also ran the Toyota GR Cup event at Sebring International Raceway, where he drove for BSI Racing.[9]

In 2025, DaCosta moved to the TA2 class of the Trans Am Series, driving for Nitro Motorsports,[10][11] where he won two podiums at Road Atlanta and VIRginia International Raceway.[12] In August of that year, it was revealed that DaCosta would make his ARCA Menards Series debut at Madison International Speedway, driving the No. 70 Toyota for Nitro Motorsports.[13][14] He finished on the lead lap in fifth place after starting in eighth. He also ran the season finale at Toledo Speedway, this time driving the No. 20 Toyota for Venturini Motorsports, where he finished four laps down in eighth place after starting in fifth.

On November 18, 2025, it was announced that DaCosta will run in the ARCA Menards Series West with Nitro Motorsports for the 2026 season.[15][16] It was later revealed that he will drive the No. 25 full-time for the team in the West Series.[17]

Personal life

DaCosta currently serves as an ambassador for the Austin Hatcher Foundation.[8]
