Please note that per WP:USERNOCAT, your user sandbox page at User:Finn Shipley/sandbox is not allowed to be filed in categories as if it were a completed article — it may be added to categories only when it is actually moved into mainspace as a real article, and must not appear in categories while it's in sandbox. I notice that I and other editors have had to come back and disable or remove categories from the page four times in the past month alone, so I'm advising you that it's absolutely not allowed to be in mainspace categories — and that's not an optional rule that you're free to ignore or disregard, but a mandatory one that you can be temporarily or permanently editblocked for disruption if you continue to break it. NASCAR Wikitables

Hello @Finn Shipley, I see you make a lot of contributions in ARCA and NASCAR articles making great contributions, adding the results in the race results wikitables, but if it doesn't bother you I would ask to you to update also the Total races in their infobox at the beginning of their articles because it is complicated to update every driver and then it becomes outdated again, so if it doesn't bother you if you will still updating race results wikitables then I suggest to update their total races too to make it easy for you, other editors and the readers of the article...so me and others editors can update the drivers that have their total races outdated and don't run regularly. Sandbox

A reminder, yet again, that user sandbox pages like User:Finn Shipley/sandbox are not allowed to be filed in article categories, per WP:USERNOCAT. This is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore at your whim, it is a mandatory rule that must always be followed — but I've now had to remove the page from categories 11 times in the past year, twice in the past two days, and I have already posted to your talk page four times before to advise you not to file the page in categories.

Do not file the page in categories. And this is the last time I'm going to be nice about it, as well: if I find the page back in any categories again, I'm going to have to report you to WP:ANI for being disruptive. Bearcat (talk) 12:23, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop adding former drivers to templates

Hi, please stop adding former drivers sections to multiple motorsport team templates, especially including junior racing team templates. They are completely unnecessary and just overkill for a template. The point of a template for junior teams especially is to display a brief overview of current, relevant information. I've read the ANI and I now understand why I was blocked in the first place. I do have drafts in my sandbox that I probably should have deleted since they were either already published or already being drafted and still had categories with them so that something I should've looked at sooner. I should have previously mentioned in the last request that I make edits solely on my computer and not on my phone, and that I usually make edits to pages fairly quickly whether its race results or statistics when they happen and are available (watching and editing at the same time, entry lists, grammar or whatever). I don't use AI or external programs or anything like that at all. I'm saying this because I know my last request sounded really awkward and bad rereading it. I'm also aware that I never even read my user talk page at all. I guess it wasn't in my mind and something I didn't think about at the time so that is 100% on me. That being said, I now know I need to pay attention to my talk page more. I'll be more than happy to respond to emails about what I need to do in order to make things better since I know there are some requests on my talk page that I'm looking into right now. (Update: I've already responded to some requests on my talk page from this month and others from further than that. Right now I'm currently looking at fixing the issues in my sandbox.) Reaume Update

For early life, I would add that Reaume started racing go karts at age 6 at good wood kart club in Toronto Canada when they had returned to Canada for 2 years as his mother got over tuberculosis. Not sure what reference you might be able to locate to substantiate this but if you search I would expect you could find as this information is accurate.

Numbers

Hello Finn Shipley, first of all thanks for you work in keeping motorsports statistics up do date! I noticed in a few articles recently you changed a lot of numbers into fully spelled out words (i.e. sixteen instead of 16), in the MOS we have WP:NUMERAL, which does say that numbers below 10 should be spelled out fully, but above that can be either or, so since such numbers already appeared to be consistently spelled out using digits it seems a bit unnecessary to change it. Since it's more of a matter of personal taste, I think it's rather similar to WP:ENGVAR where whatever was consistently used first should continue to be used, otherwise we'd just end up wasting time changing this back and forth since obviously people have different opinions. Redundant citation tags

Hey Finn, I noticed you put citation tags in a lot of pages, without actually checking if the content was referenced in the reference at the end of the sentence/section and I wanted to say that it's not constructive on your end to improperly use citation needed tags, as it also is a bit of WP:OVERTAG.
