Sunfeast is an Indian brand of food products owned by the conglomerate ITC Limited. Established in 2003, the brand initially operated within the biscuits market and has since expanded into product categories including cookies, cakes, instant noodles, and dairy beverages.[1]

History

[edit]

In July 2003, ITC Limited entered the biscuits market under the brand name Sunfeast. The launch was part of the company's strategy to expand its fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) portfolio.[2] The initial product range included glucose, Marie, and cream biscuits.

In September 2010, the brand entered the instant noodles segment with the launch of "Sunfeast YiPPee!", competing directly with Nestlé's Maggi.[3]

In subsequent years, the brand diversified into the premium cookie segment with "Dark Fantasy" (September 2010) and the dairy beverage market with "Sunfeast Wonderz Milk" (2018).[4] [5]

Marketing and branding

[edit]

The brand used an mascot called Sunny, later on after the rebranding of the logo in 2010, they removed the mascot and started using brand ambassadors like Shah Rukh Khan for the Dark Fantasy range and M.S Dhoni for the YiPPee! range.

Between 2005 and 2008, the brand was the title sponsor of the Sunfeast Open, an international WTA Tour tennis tournament held in Kolkata. In late 2025, Sunfeast Marie Light initiated the "Missing Wife" social campaign about husbands who don't add their wife's names in their nameplate. They added billboards around Bengaluru.[6]

Market position

[edit]

In the Indian biscuit market, Sunfeast competes primarily with Parle and Britannia. According to industry data, Sunfeast holds a significant share in the cream biscuits and cookies segments. In the instant noodles category, Sunfeast YiPPee! has established itself as the second-largest brand in India by market share.[7]

Manufacturing and operations

[edit]

The brand's products are manufactured through a combination of company-owned Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing and Logistics (ICML) facilities and third-party contract manufacturing units. As of 2024, Sunfeast products are distributed through over 6 million retail outlets in India and exported to more than 50 countries.[8]
