On 2008-09-16, Rickrolling was linked from Digg, a high-traffic website. (Traffic) All prior and subsequent edits to the article are noted in its revision history.

On 24 March 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved to Rickroll. The result of the discussion was not moved.

Failed verification for "Astley was rickrolled during the early 2000s"

Under "Reaction", fourth paragraph reads "Astley himself has been rickrolled a few times; in fact, the first time he was rickrolled actually pre-dated the viral phenomenon [...] during the early 2000s." The short YouTube clip source doesn't say this; Astley says "I was rickrolled in the early days of it" by a friend of his who eventually explained it to him.
