Research section
[edit]Hello all! I wanted to discuss the Research section on this page. Is it necessary for this section to be so large? It seems a bit promotional in tone and I am wondering if the information could/should be condensed?
Let me know if anyone else has any other thoughts. Fabiola718 (talk) 15:24, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed. As per WP:PROPORTION, there is probably undue weight given to research. Stormgaze (talk) 23:04, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
Suspected vandalism
[edit]This page has repeatedly been the target of attempts to add promotional material. See discussion here, here, and here. Most recently, this IP has modified the Wooclap article with excessive amounts of praise and a disproportional focus on dubious research studies (WP:PROPORTION also relevant here). This same user also put references to Wooclap to unrelated articles.
I would also like to add that multiple accounts have been created to tamper with Wooclap.
I have reverted most promotional material and added citation needed notices. This page has also been semi-protected for 2 days. Stormgaze (talk) 18:01, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Proposed sourcing improvements and content updates[edit]I was contacted by Wooclap to update their English Wikipedia page in exchange for payment, following the encyclopedia's best practices, including Wikipedia:NPOV. Since I have a conflict of interest with the company, I am submitting my suggested changes to the community to seek their input and approval before editing the page. I would like to thank in advance everyone who takes the time to read my suggestions. I first suggested that @MrOllie could review this suggestion if he has time. He answered me on his talk page to insert COI template. Start of requests[edit]1 - Citations needed[edit]I found these sources to support the information on this page.
2 - Broken link[edit]The link [7] is broken: https://www.jle.com/download/abc-315070-43158-interactive_pedagogic_tools_evaluation_of_three_assessment_systems_in_medical_education-a.pdf Here is the good one: [4] 3 - Sentences to add[edit]Before the Research section, add this sentence: In February 2024, Wooclap and its co-founder Sébastien Lebbe announced the appointment of a new chief executive: Baudouin Corman. Reference: [5][6][7] 4 - Infobox update[edit]Items to add:
5 - Proposed neutral and objective rewording for a section[edit]The Lille University study section is not accurate and contains approximations that I propose to correct:
I suggest rewriting the paragraph as follows: In a 2019 study, Lille University compared three audience response systems, Wooclap, Socrative and Votar, in pharmacy education. The study concludes that favourite applications seemed to be Socrative and Wooclap, both scoring higher than Votar and traditional lectures on learning, understanding, participation, ease of use and tool integration, with no significant difference between the two. The study states that Wooclap included different activity types, including multiple choice questions, polls, open questions and matching exercises, as well as a live feature allowing students to signal when they are lost during class. The research found that traditional lessons still outperformed every tool tested when it came to how easily students could ask questions. End of requests[edit]References

If you think my suggested contribution could be improved, I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible to help here or on my talk page for discussion. Thank you again for your time and expertise. Crux8527 (talk) 09:02, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
Declined The infobox update is unreferenced. Spintendo 17:31, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Spintendo. I’m sorry, I didn’t realise that I had to specify the exact source when updating an infobox. I realise now that everything has to be very precise; that makes sense. I’m sorry I didn’t think of that myself. I have just added the necessary references to my edit request for the infobox. Would it be possible to reconsider my request? Best. Crux8527 (talk) 18:04, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Edit request (resubmitted): sources, CEO, infobox and image
[edit]| The user below has a request that an edit be made to Wooclap. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 916 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Remember to set the |answered= parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. |
I am a paid editor working on behalf of Wooclap (disclosed above and on my user page). A previous version of this request (see "Proposed sourcing improvements and content updates" above) was declined on the 15th of August 2026 because the infobox update was unreferenced. I have taken this feedback into account and I am submitting a new request with a revised infobox proposal (Item 4): I now suggest replacing Infobox app with Infobox website, and each new infobox value is supported by a source. The request has also been rewritten with improved formatting. The five items below are independent. Please feel free to accept or decline each one separately. Crux8527 (talk) 13:43, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
Item 1: add sources to two "citation needed" statements (History section)
- 1a. In the sentence
Launched in 2015, Wooclap was founded by Jonathan Alzetta and Sébastien Lebbe, engineers from the École Polytechnique in Brussels.
, replace the tag with these two references:[1][2] - 1b. In the sentence
In 2023, Wooclap integrated artificial intelligence features, which can be used to create various questions and polls.
, replace the citation needed tag with this reference:[3]
Item 2: fix a broken link (Lille University study reference)
- The actual n°7 reference is a dead url. Replace this link:
https://www.jle.com/download/abc-315070-43158-interactive_pedagogic_tools_evaluation_of_three_assessment_systems_in_medical_education-a.pdf- by this link:
https://www.jle.com/fr/revues/abc/e-docs/interactive_pedagogic_tools_evaluation_of_three_assessment_systems_in_medical_education_315070/article.phtml
Item 3: add the CEO appointment (end of History section)
- Insert after
...which can be used to create various questions and polls.
:
In February 2024, Baudouin Corman was appointed chief executive officer of Wooclap.
[4]
Item 4: replace Infobox app with Infobox website
- Infobox app has no parameters for founders, headquarters or CEO. I suggest replacing the current infobox with Infobox website, using the code below. Existing values (logo, interface languages, website, launch year) are kept.

Item 5: add an image (History section)
- Insert at the start of the History section:

- The file is already on Wikimedia Commons.
