Requested move 16 April 2025
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to XLSmart. XLSMART was suggested but not discussed so the RM was closed in favor of the original target. (non-admin closure) >>> Extorc.talk 10:18, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
XL Axiata → XLSmart – XL Axiata and Smartfren has been merged on April 16, 2025; with the former company being a survived entity and renamed to XLSmart. 180.251.235.203 (talk) 08:41, 16 April 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. ASUKITE 15:19, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The name change is officially take effect today (17th April) local time. 103.111.102.118 (talk) 07:29, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support Sources already reported the name change as a result of the merger, such as Kontan and Pasardana. So, why not uncontroversially move the article ? 2404:8000:1037:767:6D79:2324:178A:A9E8 (talk) 09:28, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support but as XLSMART instead of XLSmart, aligning with the company's official name brand. Matthew632 (talk) 05:14, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. There is no evidence that this corporate brand engineering has yet succeeded. Sources quoted above all appear to be primary sources. Andrewa (talk) 09:31, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- You just enter the official website here: https://www.xlsmart.co.id. 180.251.229.215 (talk) 06:05, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose per Andrewa. We do not follow "official" names, but common names, per WP:NAMECHANGES we need reliable sources, which should be secondary and independent. The supporting replies in this discussion are not aligned with our policy or guidelines. (edit: I removed my relisting comment above, as I decided I'm biased and would rather oppose.ASUKITE 15:22, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- You could check most recent sources, at Fajar, Merdeka, Tempo, etc. Even English-language sources like THE FAST MODE, The Jakarta Post and Campaign Asia already use that since day one or when the merger closed (All listed above are secondary sources). Unless you are not XLSMART user and don't care about the rebranding, it has already happened, and odds to refuse the new name are very slim (less than 1%). It's kinda uncontroversial though. 103.111.102.118 (talk) 16:10, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Asukite if you supposed to be deny the rebrand, you're NOT have the rights to oppose/support anymore. 180.251.229.215 (talk) 14:05, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I don't understand? I had left a relisting comment which I felt was more of a !vote, and so instead I replied as I realized I had an opinion (the definition of bias). Your assessment of whatever my "rights" are is invalid and irrelevant. ASUKITE 14:46, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support Strictly speaking, rebrand is a rebrand, and giving the situation like this, the page move from XLAxiata to XLSMART (or XLSmart) does make sense. I disagree about some users saying that the move is bias or all sources listed are primary, secondary sources from the day of merger closed started to refer the company as "XLSmart" even the brand wasn't officially launch until April 17, so we prefer most recent sources regarding the rebranding. Remember, official social media channels already use the new name (YouTube and X), so it appears that those opposing the move deny that XLSMART exists. 182.253.243.100 (talk) 14:47, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
