The article hasn’t mentioned that YouTube recently removed the trending page. Numerous news outlets have reported on this event. Yet this article hasn’t mentioned it at all. CycoMa2 (talk) 14:58, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even see where the trending page is even discussed at all, so I think it makes sense that we are not discussing its removal. (Sources if this does need to be added: 1, 2, 3) --Super Goku V (talk) 20:47, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AI Verification Backlash

[edit]

I think this needs to be added to the article:

"This announcement and change was met with immense backlash from YouTubers and privacy experts alike.[1][2] Concerns were raised over being required to hand over data that could be leaked or breached. Many grew worried about the platform misclassifying them as underage and discouraging many others from using it. It also resulted in a Change.org petition that has amassed over 50,000 signatures with many decrying the decision as intrusive "AI spying".[1]"

As this shows the backlash to the AI Age Verification amid creator privacy. 2600:4041:528B:ED00:B405:B92F:575F:4FCA (talk) 17:00, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is so real I have been looking for someone else that agrees that AI age or face check is really dumb, like it could work in some ways but some people look younger then they are and get forced in to an age lock that requeres personal info. also teens could get recognised by the AI as an adult and start seeing videos or content that is meant for adults or older teens. ~2025-41002-38 (talk) 23:41, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation for "si=" suffix at the end of YouTube urls?

[edit]

Can someone explain the "si=nnnnnnnn" where nnnnnnnn is a variable alphanumeric string at the end of YouTube urls? It is obviously optional, as removing it doesn't affect access to the target video. Blainster (talk) 00:24, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
