I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! Dcotos (talk) 12:30, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Dcotos. Good to be back again. I will go through the links you shared; a refresher is probably due, haha. I also appreciate your review of the page I recently created, and thank you for your suggestions. I have added categories and links to the page from other relevant articles. I will continue to improve this page over the next few days as there's much to be said about Sumani Jodhia as notable figure. Baberoothless (talk) 12:43, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Loriendrew. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Jerry Seinfeld, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 21:50, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red

[edit]

Hi there, Baberoothless. Thank you for adding the Women in Red template to your user page and for making improvements to Ankita Bhakat. You might like to register "officially" with the project by adding your name to our List of new members. That will make it easier for us to help you along with articles about women. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:20, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

hi, thank you for writing to me, and pointing me in the right direction wrt user registration. i’m glad you noticed the edits I made to bhakat’s page; I was meaning to take up creating edits around indian women archers as a side-project, and this is encouraging. i’m also looking at the red list index to see how I can help.

i hope you’ll forgive me for the delay in the getting back to you. :)

Baberoothless (talk) 17:10, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to see you have become a member of Women in Red and that you intend to help us along by writing about women from Asia. Before you create your first women's biography, I think you will find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 19:50, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paulina Begumbe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Paulina Begumbe moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Paulina Begumbe, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Problems with lint errors: bogus file options at Butterfly vertebra

[edit]

Why reverting my edits (diff)? This is invalid option for lint errors.

To fix lint errors in wikitext, replace the content from "[[File:Schmetterlingswirbel.jpg | thumb | right | alt=Side-by-side X-ray images of the lower spine (lumbar region) show a comparison between a malformed and a normal vertebra. Left image: A grayscale X-ray of the lumbar spine, showing several vertebrae stacked vertically. Right image: The same X-ray with colored overlays highlighting anatomical features and malformations: The malformed vertebra (a butterfly vertebra) is outlined and shaded in red. This vertebra is split vertically in the middle, creating a butterfly-like appearance due to the failure of the vertebral body to fuse properly during development. Hi! Thanks for requesting clarification. You might benefit from going through WP:ALT. Image caption and alt text are two different things. An image should ideally contain both to make it accessible for people with visual impairments. Your edit was reverted because you deleted the alt text from the image, and only kept the caption. Hope that helps explain why alt= is not an invalid parameter. Cheers! Baberoothless (talk) 16:50, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Explain this revert

[edit]

Your edit summary says "Unconstructive", you have to explain why they were, if this were the case. If you are patrolling recent changes, then do not do it again in the same manner. These are changes I have made and you wholesale reverted them. Do not do this again. I had modified a comment I made to point to the talkpage section I started. ~2025-36240-70 (talk) 23:33, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the wholesale revert. I believe I only meant to revert one of the edits and accidently reverted all. Even the one, in hindsight, was misunderstood as unconstructive on my end. As you rightly pointed out, I was patrolling recent changes, and will be more mindful in the future! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Baberoothless (talk) 10:14, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've had a few run-ins with patrollers who did the same mistake, and I was a
bit frustrated as it was late at night during the time, but it usually boils down to the general rule of thumb that you should overview what you revert carefully as per guidance given on Wikipedia:Reverting. I've fixed some of the formatting errors and improved some citations in your article. Remember that Visual Editor automatically will not let you add anything next ot a a linked text (it automatically inserts <nowiki>....</nowiki> tags as you write), and in such cases it is better to use source editor or alternatively overview the changes made in source editor mode so as to leave no mistakes. -- ~2025-36240-70 (talk) 11:10, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
