Ways to improve Podcast Index
[edit]Hello, Back ache,
Thank you for creating Podcast Index.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The sourcing is rather sparse and the references seem to be routine announcements. Note that Wikipedia is not a directory.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

- It's a translation of an existing article which is, in itself admitted sparse. I am part of the group of wiki-ians looking to improve the coverage in the wikiverse and this website is part of that and has an associated property https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P11740 I'll have a look but its really intended as a stub rather something I am going to write a lot about myself. Hello Back ache! Your addition to Welcome Break back in 2011 has been rewritten, as it appears to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license—to request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page. Thank you. Komonzia (talk) 13:14, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- I have looked in the history and it was me adding that has electric car charger, I checked back using the wayback machine to look at the text and reference I supplied, though the ref' confirms what the text is saying, they are not the same https://web.archive.org/web/20120328035408/http://connevted.blogspot.com/2011/07/uks-first-electric-highway-announced.html
- What are you using they says I did? If your system is giving false-positives and using aggressive language, that's not good for our community
- I appreciate your effort and the need to use automation but you have to "keep an eye" on what its doing
- Back ache (talk) 11:40, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Back ache, I didn't use any automation to find it (the advisory above is a generic template, but I use it because everything I want to say is on there). What raised an eyebrow for me was the fact Exeter is 'west' when it's actually a city on our southern coast (most would say it's "south west", not firmly west). So I compared what was being said with the source.
- You wrote here: "Ecotricity will be providing fast and normal electric vechile charging stations at 14 of the service stations, linking London in the south with Exeter in the west and Edinburgh in the north."
- The source wrote: "Under the terms of the deal, Ecotricity will provide fast and normal charging stations at 14 Welcome Break service stations, linking London in the south with Exeter in the west and Edinburgh in the north."
- Some people have a habit of copying the whole sentence and then only changing the tenses to make sense in context. This is what I believed happened here, and the reason I decided it's worth putting the warning on your Talk page even 15 years later is because, if I was doing it, I would also want to be informed that it's a habit I should break. :) It's best to put the concept into different words entirely.
- The only automation I used was WikiBlame to figure out who added it to the page -- after seeing for myself that it's very close to the source. Komonzia (talk) 12:19, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- It was along time ago, and weird as it may seem, "fast chargers" were a unique feature at places like this, I imagine (knowing me) I was being "completionist" back-filling all the motorway service stations that had them (and so typo's can creep in) as I too use tools as helpers rather than "do-er's" .
- I would have a think about that template test though as whilst pr puffers might deserve it, the regular wikipedian's (or newbies especially) could be a little irked by it :-)
- Keep up the good work
- Neil :-)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Hotel Terme Millepini when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.
