- Hi @CarnieW,
- It's not so much "wrong references", but rather ones that are primary and therefore unable to establish notability, which is a core requirement for inclusion in the encylopaedia.
- Of the ones you list here, academic and government sources are again primary. The two others (the first and last) are publications which are typically secondary, but in both cases a representative of the organisation is talking, which makes them also primary (as well as non-independent, ie. associated with the subject).
- We would need to see what reliable and entirely independent secondary sources have published about your organisation, on their own initiative without any input from you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:21, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Draft:Nyanzi M Luther
[edit]Draft:Nyanzi M Luther has been created during a discussion at Wikipedia:Help desk#Need help with potential systemic bias. Should the draft be moved to Draft:Nyanzi Martin Luther, which you protected on 10 December 2025? TSventon (talk) 15:16, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @TSventon: with these sort of persistent recreations I normally try to consolidate them at one title for better visibility if at all possible, but this has been created so many times at so many titles (from memory, half a dozen or more?) that that ships has sailed already. Still, if you'd like to move it, don't let me stand in your way. Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:45, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, I left the (now deleted) article alone. TSventon (talk) 19:31, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Draft Resubmitted
[edit]Hi there,
I resubmitted my draft after you provided feedback, but it still says declined. Is that message from your first round of revisions, or did you submit that for my second round? Sorry, new here!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Two_Prime Christinastrauss (talk) 15:46, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Christinastrauss: you edited this draft a week or so ago, but haven't resubmitted it; you need to click on the blue 'resubmit' button. When you do, my decline (that big pink box) will still stay there, but on top of that there will appear a new mustard-coloured box with the heading "Review waiting, please be patient." -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:57, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- Doh. Fixed, and thank you! Christinastrauss (talk) 16:09, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – May 2026
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (April 2026).

Interface administrator changes
- Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055).
- The autoconfirmed user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484).
- The arbitration case SchroCat has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
- Per a recent motion, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
- The arbitration case Maghreb has been closed.
- The May 2026 administrator elections are scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19. The call for candidates ends May 5.
- The 2026 Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is scheduled to run from April 25 to June 1. Candidacy submissions close on May 10.
- A new noticeboard for non-urgent, batch page protection requests has been created, primarily for the enforcement of contentious topic restrictions.

- Hi @Minna Sora no Shita: my guess would be it's a group of youngsters, probably classmates or similar, who decided to get started on Wikipedia. I shouldn't think there's anything to worry about, so far they've mainly been editing in their user spaces, and the few published articles they've edited are all different, so there's no multi-user collusion going on. Still, it may be worth checking back after a few days, just to make sure they're not getting into any trouble (eg. one of them has just tried to move their sandbox into the project name space, but a filter prevented that) – or better yet, maybe you could go and post some helpful newbie suggestions for them? :) DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:04, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Why?? Just why did you redirect it back?? It took months to make Inyamad (talk) 12:34, 7 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Inyamad: because there was zero evidence that this development is notable. We need to see significant coverage of it in multiple secondary sources, and the stub cites no such source. I suggest you review our notability guidelines, starting with the general WP:GNG one. I would also advise you not to get into an edit war over this; instead go do some research to find sources which satisfy the GNG standard. Happy editing! -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:40, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Objection to Speedy Deletion (Criterion A7)
I am contesting the A7 speedy deletion nomination for Apachat.
While this page provides documentation for the platform, it is a significant technological development within the Rwandan tech ecosystem, providing localized social networking and monetization features.
Per Wikipedia:Deletion is not cleanup, I ask that the article not be deleted. If it is not yet ready for the Mainspace, please move it to the Draft namespace (Draft:Apachat) instead of deleting it. This will allow me to continue adding independent, third-party sources to establish its notability Charleskwizeraaa (talk) 11:27, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
- Draft:ApaChat already exists. We don't need a second draft on the same thing. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 11:30, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Regarding the sources for my draft: Prithiba Kumar Gokul Chandra Memorial High School (H.S.)
[edit]Hi DoubleGrazing,
Thank you for your feedback. I have reviewed your comments regarding the sources.
I would like to clarify that I have mostly used independent secondary sources, such as reputable news portals, national print media, and third-party websites. These outlets are not connected to the subject and provide detailed coverage.While I included one school booklet for basic info, the rest of the citations come from published media with editorial oversight. I believe these meet the requirements for reliability and independence.
I am currently looking for even more high-quality references to strengthen the article and I will add them shortly.
Added to it I would like to provide some additional context regarding the significance of this institution to help address the concerns about notability :
• Heritage and Reputation: This is one of the oldest and most traditional schools in the region. It has a long history and a very strong reputation.
• Global Alumni: Many students from this school are now working in important positions both at home and abroad.
• Broad Scope of Impact: The school’s activities are not just limited to academics; its influence on the local community and the education sector is significant. Its alumni are spread across the globe, contributing to various professional fields.
• Public Interest: Given its status as a prominent educational institution, having a neutral and factual Wikipedia article is essential for researchers and the public who seek reliable information about such historic schools.
My Request:
If you find any specific information or reference to be weak or "routine," please let me know. I am happy to remove those specific parts or references to improve the quality. However, I believe the institution itself is important enough to have a page on Wikipedia so that people can find reliable information about it.I am ready to edit the draft further based on your advice. Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Pro-Scientia26
~~~~ Pro-Scientia26 (talk) 15:51, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Pro-Scientia26: you need to read the WP:ORG notability guideline, which tells you what sort of sources we need to see for this draft to be acceptable. Some of your sources, such as [1] and [2] are just portal profiles, while others such as [3] and [4] appear in secondary media but only cover incidental topics such as events held at the school. We need to see multiple secondary sources providing significant coverage of the school itself.
- Please note that the vast majority of schools are not notable enough to justify an article in a global encyclopaedia. While this one may be an exception, the onus is on you to demonstrate that with strong sources. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:25, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing :Thank you for the guidance. I understand the distinction between routine event coverage and significant institutional coverage under WP:ORG.
- Finding in-depth historical documentation for regional schools can be a time-consuming process as much of it exists in offline archives, local history books, or district gazetteers rather than digital news portals. I am currently reaching out to local historians and looking through offline records to find sources that detail the school's long-term impact and history.
- I would appreciate it if you could allow me some time to conduct this research and update the draft accordingly. I am committed to meeting Wikipedia's notability standards." --Pro-Scientia26 Pro-Scientia26 (talk) 15:20, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Pro-Scientia26: sure, there is no hurry; Wikipedia is not edited to a deadline. Drafts are kept for six months from the last edit, and at five months you will get a reminder that you have one more month before that happens. So if you keep making an edit at least once every six months, the draft will stay practically forever. And even if it gets deleted as stale, you can request it to be restored. So take your time. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:15, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
New IP to block
[edit]Hey, I saw that you had performed a block of ~2026-10161-90. The IP seems to be at it again - a favorite target of theirs appears to be redirecting the film Hot Hot Hot (film) to a roller coaster game. I've posted at WP:AIV, but then saw that you blocked the prior IP and are still active. Can you block this one and protect the film page to prevent them from doing more nonsense redirects? The page is up for AfD - there's a chance that it may survive and if so, the page will likely need more permanent protection after that.
I would do it myself, but I participated in the AfD and am technically involved enough to where it may not be appropriate. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 11:50, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- @ReaderofthePack: done – blocked some TAs and the underlying IP, and PP'd the article for a week; hope that puts an end to it, for now at least. Thanks for the heads-up! -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:03, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
