Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Elanim, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 🇵🇸‍🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦‍🇵🇸 09:39, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Gaetano Minale (December 9)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Drmies was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
As before--promotional tone is still there. References are done poorly, if at all--bare URLs simply do not cut it.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Elanim. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 15:19, 9 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

well, thanks for all the suggestions I will try to stick to your advice, useful for reformulating a new draft thanks for all the attention Elanim (talk) 09:51, 11 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Gaetano Minale (December 13)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Hoary were:
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
This submission appears to read more like a résumé than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, that provide secondary analysis of the subject's life in context. In contrast, résumés will tend to list individual accomplishments and rely on self-published sources, which might unduly focus on positive events and fail to properly balance their weight. Please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies by using independent, reliable sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Overstuffed with detail, much of which seems of trivial significance.

Consider the section "Pubblications news papers and periodicals". This seems to be a list of mostly unremarkable news articles. If one of these articles says something significant, then summarize it and of course cite the article for the summary; if however it fails to say anything, then cut any mention of it.

Thanks to such verbiage as Minale's continued success in the art world was further consolidated by his appointment as an academician to prestigious academies, the draft is still promotional.

Minale may be notable, but if so then his notability is hidden by material that needs to be cut.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Dear Sir Vestrian24Bio, tell me what is wrong with my draft. This is the only way to correct it. It seems perfect to me, so how can I know what is right and what is not? It is all documented and specified as Wikipedia requires. I have made many corrections. You pointed them out to me. I have corrected them. Please tell me what is wrong with the rejected draft. Elanim (talk) 12:11, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Every sentence in the page should be attributed to an inline citation.
  2. Most of the refs are not formatted correctly; User:Hoary pointed it out a week ago; but none has been fixed.
Vestrian24Bio 11:06, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Vestrian24Bio .. I did what Mr. Hoary pointed out to me and therefore I relaunched the draft, now, please explain to me what the page should be attributed to inline citation means and also what most of the references are not formatted correctly, I would like to understand this for any corrections to be made... thanks if you will. @Elanim, Was it you who wrote this unsigned comment on my talk page?:
"Dear Sir Netherzone, I saw the note you made on my Gaetano Minale draft, which I'm correcting, pointing out many "defects." May I ask you for help? I have many recently written sources that are useful for the notes you noted. I've tried, but I can't insert them. It's too difficult for me. Can you help me? Please?" --Netherzone (talk) 16:26, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Elanim, You have added this message to my talk page three times now, please stop doing that. Please understand that this discussion should either take place here on your own talk page (here), or the talk page for the draft, which is located here: Draft talk:Gaetano Minale.
I'm really sorry that I do not have the time in the next several weeks to help sort this out. It's the holiday season where I live, which involves travel, cooking and spending time with friends, loved ones and family. I would suggest that you follow the advice that was given to you previously by several experienced editors in the comments on the draft, and above.
If you are wondering why your article submission was declined, please post a question at the Articles for creation help desk. If you have any other questions about your editing experience, we'd love to help you at the Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself!
I do understand how hard it is to write an article as a new editor, and I empathize with how confusing and frustrating it can be. In addition to the helpful links above: Articles for creation help desk and WP:TEAHOUSE, here are two more helpful links: Help:Your first article and WP:CITE.
If this draft is an autobiography, here are guidelines about writing about yourself: WP:AUTOBIO; if you are not writing an autobiography, but are a friend or family of the artist please read and follow the guidance at: WP:COI. If you are being paid by the artist, you must follow the polices and guidelines for paid editors: WP:PAID.
If English is not your first language, you may want to try writing an article in that language Wikipedia. For example, if Italian is your native language, you could try to write an article on Italian Wikipedia. Here is the main page link: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagina_principale
Thanks and and good luck with the draft. Netherzone (talk) 17:12, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Sir Netherzone , first of all, I sincerely apologize for my computer ignorance and for having to use multiple pages to reply. At 87, I have a lot of difficulty using these gadgets. I'm sorry, but I understand it's a holiday and you can't be interested in me. You know, I could wait until after the holidays, if you can... Thank you and Merry Christmas. Elanim (talk) 18:32, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand, you are the artist and are trying to write an autobiography. And I understand that you are having trouble using technology. Here is something for you to work on over the holidays. What are the three or four most important things (Such as news articles written about you, or if you have works in notable museums or national galleries, or things that have been written about you in books) that can prove that you are what is called a "notable artist". See:WP:NARTIST If that can be sorted out before you resubmit the draft, that will help reviewers in the future. List those 3 or 4 things here on the draft talk page and a reviewer may evaluate them there. I cannot make you any promises that I will improve the draft nor accept it; Wikipedia frowns on autobiographies, and only includes articles on notable people. Netherzone (talk) 18:54, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
One last question for now, have you ever edited Wikipedia using any other user accounts or user names? Netherzone (talk) 19:34, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning Mr. Netherzone. You're asking me if I have any important information about myself. Yes, some of it is already listed in draft form. I have some newspaper articles dating back to before the 2000s. In 2016, I donated 105 graphic works to the municipality where I live. These are currently exhibited in a municipal art gallery in the foyer of the Auditorium Italia in Atessa. Also here, where I live, a museum collection of over 100 of my works has been open to the public since 2021. The municipality has produced a volume of about 100 pages of graphic works, which are also cited in draft form, and they are present in many volumes with photos and articles by critics. You're asking me if I used different accounts on the English Wikipedia. I don't. I hope for your kind cooperation; I'll try to improve the draft. Have a good day. Elanim (talk) 07:54, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning, Are you absolutely certain that you did not edit Wikipedia using another user name? Have you used any other accounts on Wikipedias? Netherzone (talk) 14:42, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good evening, as far as I remember over the years, I could be wrong... I don't think so in English Wikipedia, but I see that you are interested in this, why? Elanim (talk) 15:59, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

In this thread, you don't point out that Netherzone makes a mistake in writing "you are the artist and are trying to write an autobiography". I infer that you, Elanim, are Gaetano Minale (as your username suggests). Similarly, I infer from this that GAETANO MINALE is Gaetano Minale (as his username suggests). And if I'm right so far, then "Elamin" and "GAETANO MINALE" have been operated by the same person.

GAETANO MINALE is blocked -- not only in English-language Wikipedia, but across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Somebody who is blocked is permitted to appeal to have their block lifted. They are not permitted to create a new identity and use it to edit. (They are also not permitted to edit without logging in.) -- Hoary (talk) 01:30, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning, Mr Hoary., for someone who has been blocked from the Italian Wikipedia since 2017, namely Gaetano Minale, no attempt is allowed to contact any bodies capable of unblocking me. The procedure you indicated is not possible because the block does not allow access. How can I obtain a pardon and who can help me with this? Elanim (talk) 07:43, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please see m:Global locks/it, which is partly translated from and partly copied (untranslated) from the English. The part of it that you are looking for is Se sei bloccato a livello globale (per motivi diversi da quelli di essere bandito o compromesso dalla Fondazione), dovresti fare appello tramite email a stewards-appeals@wikimedia.org; but I strongly suggest that, before you write or take any other action, you read the whole page and that you spend at least two days thinking about what to say and how to say it. -- Hoary (talk) 10:45, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Mr. Hoary, as always, you are kind and give me good advice. I will think carefully. And you are right, before making a decision to request an unblocking, I need to think carefully about what to say, because this has already caused me so many problems in the past. Thanks again for the advice and happy holidays... I always hope for your kindness. Hugs. Elanim (talk) 11:36, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
