Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Template:WikiProject Numbers assessment. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks. Oh right, thanks a lot. I'll be more careful. Electorus (talk) 16:32, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Research

[edit]

Hello I'm a student from LUISS university in Rome and I'm working on a presentation based on wikipedia's crowdsourcing process and one part of the work is to put myself in the shoes of a wikipedia contributor and find out some feeling he receives when editing or writing pages. The questions I would like to receive answers on are the following:

  1. What does the editor think and feel:
  2. What does the editor say and do:
  3. What does the editor hear and see (about its surroundings):
  4. What are his pains (what type of frustration does the user feel when contributing):
  5. What are his gains (what does make him feel good when contributing):

Active support is really needed so thanks in advance and have a great day Tartaluca (talk) 14:35, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Editor reflections are very likely going to help you about this. As for me:
1. Passionate, excited, and satisfied. It's good to see what you're working on grow and bloom, before eventually being published to people worldwide, giving more or less knowledge to the internet.
4. As I'm pretty newer than other editors I haven't got a notable pain in contributing to Wikipedia yet, but as I heard generally they're getting your work denied/rejected and having an effortful edit reverted/undone.
5. Getting articles created by you accepted and published of course! That's a great success for many people, especially newbies. Other gains may be having those accepted pages viewed by many people, taking part in a big contribution/collaboration, et cetera. Basically anything that impacts Wikipedia, whether highly influential or not, is considered what makes editors happy.
For 2. and 3., I tried my best but still don't get your question. "What does the editor say/do/hear/see" ("when editing or writing pages"); I mean, I don't say anything? What I do is editing pages? What thing are considered "surroundings" to hear and see? I might be able to answer them if you could give me a more detailed explanation. Thanks :) Electorus (talk) 15:54, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
so what are the surroundings, what feedbacks do you receive from the community, what does the user say ( maybe if you find wrong info) and what do you do (maybe finding inconsistencies or something like I wish they kept my edit like it originally was) Tartaluca (talk) 16:06, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, here are my answers:
What are the surroundings: Fellow editors who share similar interests. We collaborate each other in working on certain things that require proper development.
What feedbacks do you receive from the community: As a novice I only have got a few feedbacks, but mainly they're suggestions of improving my work, guides for making a great edit, et cetera. They're helpful for those who want to improve themselves in Wikipedia editing, including me.
What if I find wrong information/inconsistencies: I fix them as much as I could. After all people who are better than me will come to help.
What do I do if I wish people kept my edit: I'd check first whether the edit assumes good faith. If yes, I'd let them as is, as it's considered an improvement to the page. If not, I'd argue in the proper place such as the article's talk page.
Hopefully this will help you. Best of luck on your work. :) Electorus (talk) 16:26, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much have a fantastic day :) Tartaluca (talk) 16:28, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
