@Habst - Nice work on Draft:Carl Lawson (sprinter). — ERcheck (talk) 01:36, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@ERcheck Thanks, I only just got through his first season of coverage! I think this will be a GA candidate for sure -- I acknowledge that having a ton of one-line stubs for Pan American champs isn't ideal but I wonder if just having the {{Footer Pan American Champions 4x100m Men}} template present could count as a 'indication of importance' re: A7 deletion. I'm currently working on developing a tool to add SIGCOV to articles like these to protect them from A7/WP:SPORTCRIT prong 5 PROD deletion in the future. -- Habst (talk) 01:51, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Habst - I think that the assertion of significance should be in the body of the article, not in a footer (which might be missed). Adding a sentence to the lead that says the subject was a member of a Pan American 4x100m championship team should suffice. That said, I've found that it is sometimes the case that nominators equate assertion of significance with notability when making a A7 speedy delete nomination. — ERcheck (talk) 02:39, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@ERcheck, thank you. I created a script to find the Pan Am gold medalist stubs so that we can add an A7-satisfying sentence to the ledes, and this should be done for the relay medalists now. I've moved Carl Lawson (sprinter) back to mainspace and nominated it for GA; I'd appreciate your review if you have the time. --Habst (talk) 18:41, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Habst - Well done to taken it from a deletion-nominated stub to a full, detailed, FA-nominated article! — ERcheck (talk) 18:44, 19 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Michigan Community College Athletic Association track and field indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
