Conflict of Interest disclosure

[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest:

"Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest. Someone having a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith.

COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. It undermines public confidence and risks causing public embarrassment to the individuals and companies being promoted. Editors with a COI are sometimes unaware of whether or how much it has influenced their editing. If COI editing causes disruption, an administrator may opt to place blocks on the involved accounts.

Editors with a COI, including paid editors, are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content."

I put the shell for non-neutral name, thus it cannot be seen as a bad redirect since this is a comparison some have made. Isn't this the point of the non-neutral shell? Humanbeing9 (talk) 00:50, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

None of my redirects were objectively disruptive. They were all plausible by some and were not vandalism. Yes, I created non-neutral name redirects, but I tagged them correctly as such. Isn't that the point of those tags? What is the point of the non-neutral name tag if not for redirects that are non-neutral? I also think the infinite ban is very harsh. These "offenses" were all during a very small timeframe, by the time I got my first warning, all the edits were already done. At least, please reduce my ban period. Thank you for your understanding. If I am unbanned, I will cease from redirect creation in order to avoid more issues. Humanbeing9 (talk) 01:00, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Clearly disruptive. As you aren't willing to take responsibility for your disruptive editing, it would be a mistake to lift the block. Yamla (talk) 01:05, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Humanbeing9 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I think you might have misunderstood me. I admit that my edits were not good, and I will learn from them. I just don't think it's fair to consider them vandalism; they were just poorly thought out edits. As I said earlier, I promise to no longer create redirects in order to avoid these issues. All I want is a reduction in ban time, so I can reflect and come back as a better editor. I take responsibility for my heavily flawed redirect edits; I just think an infinite ban is far too harsh, and that calling the redirects intentionally disruptive is not fair, as I did not create them with the intention to weaken the wiki. These are search terms that could be used for these people, and I made sure to tag non-neutral names correctly. Now I know that those types of redirects are not acceptable, so I will learn from that and not do similar ones. Again, remember, all these edits were done before I got my first warning about redirects. I did not create any new ones since the first warning about redirects. I will learn from this and never create redirects again. Thank you, and I hope I can be forgiven, even if only slightly. I am sorry. Humanbeing9 (talk) 01:31, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Firstly, it's a block, not a ban. Secondly, indefinite is not infinite. You may well get yourself unblocked, even in the foreseeable future, but not straight away. You say you need time to reflect, take all the time you want; you can reflect while blocked. But you filed your first appeal three minutes after being blocked, and that's not enough time for any sort of reflection. When you're done reflecting – and I would suggest you'll need days or preferably weeks, not minutes or even hours – tell us what you've concluded from your reflections, rather than merely saying you "will learn" something at some unspecified future time. (You may wish to consult WP:GAB before appealing again.) DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:36, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
