ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:19, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
A throwback to 2011
[edit]Hi jpgordon! 14 years ago you participated in a talk page discussion about the Schmidt sting pain index. As part of the upcoming event for Wikipedia's 25th birthday we're planning a segment which reads out some fun talk page interactions, and are considering including this discussion. Please let us know if you have any concerns. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 01:31, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- Only 14 years ago? Pretty recent for me! Nope, no concerns at all. Thanks for asking! --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 03:21, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – December 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2025).

- Starting on November 4, the IP addresses of logged-out editors are no longer being publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account associated with their edits.
- Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start). - The December 2025 administrator elections are scheduled from Nov 25 – Dec 15.
- An Articles for Creation backlog drive is happening in December 2025, with over 1,000 drafts awaiting review from the past two months. In addition to AfC participants, all administrators and new page patrollers can help review using the Yet Another AFC Helper Script, which can be enabled in the Gadgets settings. Your recent page deletions
[edit]Here [2] and [3], you deleted those two pages as G5 (which means they were created by a blocked or banned user in violation of their block or ban). But the page creation logs for both pages [4] and [5] show that they were created by admins and not the user itself. Any reason why you deleted those two pages that existed for 2 years? Did the user self-request for the pages to be deleted or was it for some other reason? Please do let me know why. ~2025-40379-74 (talk) 20:30, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
- I am one of the admins who created the page. I have no objections whatsoever to Jpgordon deleting it. --Yamla (talk) 20:53, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
- One of the better use cases for WP:IAR. Editing through a proxy to complain about a troll page being deleted isn't a particularly noble thing to do. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 21:40, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
On another deletion, I just wanted to give you transparency, a user made a comment at the RFD Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2025_December_14#0.9_repeating. I support the deletion, I just wanted to make sure you were aware. Happy Editing -- IAmChaos 23:43, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
- thanks. IAR there too. I seem to be on a roll. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 00:55, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
