Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Sophisticatedevening was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Colavita (surname) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Colavita (surname). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it is a set index containing only non-notable people. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 08:54, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Paolo Gamba, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Madonna del Carmelo. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Anachronistic papal images

[edit]

Hey Roc1233, just to let you know that anachronistic images of popes in general, and Portraits from Saint Paul Outside the Walls in particular, are generally discouraged per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Catholicism/Archive 2020#RfC on non-contemporary images of popes. See also WP:PORTRAIT for a different explanation of this general point of view. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 21:13, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know I was unaware. I'll be reverting the ones which haven't been reverted. Roc1233 (Talk | Edits) 21:14, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Question: are images such as the one on pope valentine acceptable? Roc1233 (Talk | Edits) 01:35, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd been procrastinating making a decision about this set of images for a while, as it's not from the immediately recognizable (and specifically single out in the above discussion) The Lives and Times of the Popes or St Paul Outside the Walls. I think I'm generally now coming to the opinion to remove, as the Ritratti dei romani pontefici seems very similar to Lives and Times, in its imaginary depictions. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 09:31, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The sorts of images we'd generally be looking for are conventionalized hagiographic art or typical devotional images (i.e. Pope Anicetus, Pope Soter), notable artworks, or else artworks by notable artists (i.e. Pope Sergius I) or obviously stylized (e.g. manuscript/miniature) depictions, where its unlikely for the viewer to be miss-led in to thinking this is an accurate depiction (i.e. Pope Callixtus II, Pope Damasus I [with the more contemporaneous the better]).
What we want to avoid is random imaginary (yet realistic looking) non notable illustrations by non-notable 19th c. artists, based on absolutely nothing, drawn only so there was a complete set of portraits in a long forgotten non-notable book, and which (probably) looked nothing like the people depicted.
Obviously this can be a bit subjective, but WP:PORTRAIT covers this general approach better than I could. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 09:48, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

The comment the reviewer left was:
I'm not seeing significant secondary coverage of this company. Most sources cited are just routine reporting. The Canadian Mining Journal piece (Ref. 8) is good, but that's the only one in sight. Typically two secondary sources like this are a bare minimum for WP:NCORP, and for an article of this length I would expect more than two.

Note for new pages which are a part of series

[edit]

Thanks for creating List of World Heritage Sites in Djibouti but the layout there isn't that good. I am not telling you to fix it yourself but if you see other Lists of World Heritage Sites which are also Featured lists, then you can notice that they all use a certain type of format. If you copied this format for the Djibouti list, it would be better because it came about as a process of consensus so that it had the least amount of irrelevant information, the most amount of relevant information, and it is also more accessible due to table captions. If you again create lists which are a part of a series, like Visa requirements for citizens of x country or list of Michelin star restaurants in xcountry, then please keep this advice in mind. Nonetheless, thanks for the article. 🇪🇭🇵🇸🇸🇩 Easternsahara 🇪🇭🇵🇸🇸🇩 21:49, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Funnily enough, I did copy the layout from a different list of World Heritage Sites. Roc1233 (Talk | Edits) 23:25, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
