Draft:Monjur Mourshed: resubmitted after addressing concerns

[edit]

Hi Vodnir,

You reviewed my draft Draft:Monjur Mourshed and flagged some concerns. I have since done a major rewrite—removed CV-style content, replaced primary sources with independent secondary sources (mainstream media), and addressed notability under WP:PROF (Turing Fellowship, high citation impact). I've now resubmitted.

Would you be willing to take another look when you have time? Thank you for your earlier feedback.

Kind regards, Ianharrison324 (talk) 09:44, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Ianharrison324,
Thank you for your work on the draft. It has recently been declined by a reviewer. Before the reviewer’s comments came in, you had already made constructive improvements, which is good progress.
The reviewer’s feedback was: “Likely to pass WP:NACADEMIC, but some unsourced claims still need to be addressed.”
Please make sure to address those unsourced claims with reliable citations, as this is the key step needed for the draft to move forward.
Best regards,-- Vodnir (talk) 14:29, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Vodnir. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! Malinaccier (talk) 14:13, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Malinaccier, thank you sincerely. Much appreciated, -- Vodnir (talk) 14:40, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Orphan tag

[edit]

About EarthBound Halloween Hack and similar - if there are incoming links to an article from other mainspace articles, anyone can remove an {{orphan}} template, regardless of the state of the article. -- Reconrabbit 14:44, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Reconrabbit,
Since you were the AfC reviewer, I noted that the tag was removed without article improvements. I restored it, but the final decision and responsibility are yours as reviewer. Best, -- Vodnir (talk) 14:53, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Orphan is a tag that does not require article improvements to be removed. It relies only on other articles. (WP:Orphanage) -- Reconrabbit 15:48, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again @Reconrabbit,
I entered the discussion out of respect for the orphan tag that was part of the accepted AfC version. When the AfC submitter removed the tag without explanation or article improvements, I considered it important to restore it once to reflect the accepted state.
After your objection, I reverted myself so that the decision remains with you as the AfC reviewer. Since the tag you originally applied was later removed, the responsibility for that change rests with you as reviewer.
Best, -- Vodnir (talk) 15:55, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Are you using a chat bot to write your talk page messages? Your responses here and on the article's talk page have the same canned tone of regurgitated wording and apparent failure to actually understand what was said to you. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 18:25, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Deacon Vorbis, I personally write and think through all my responses, following Wikipedia guidelines and the discussion so far. I just want to keep things clear, transparent, and respectful. -- Vodnir (talk) 18:31, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your response here is also pretty clearly LLM-generated. See WP:LLMCHAT and consider this an only warning. Continue to do this, and I'll raise the issue at WP:ANI. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 18:42, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Deacon Vorbis: You warned me and then reported me, even though I was just trying to keep the article in line with the AfC version.
I joined the discussion because the tag was removed without explanation, not to start a conflict.

Your submission at Articles for creation: IndieFEST Film Awards (December 18)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Vestrian24Bio was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Request reason:

I would like to appeal this block. All of my contributions have been made in good faith, using independent and reliable sources to improve article quality. I have never used or coordinated with any other accounts. In fact, just two days ago administrators granted me rollback and pending changes rights at my own request, to help protect articles I was working on. This shows that my editing was constructive and trusted. I respectfully ask for reconsideration of this block, as my only intent has been to contribute positively to Wikipedia. Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Asilvering, I am being honest with you: this is not my account, and I do not know whose it is. Have you been using proxies when editing Wikipedia? -- asilvering (talk) 02:27, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering, No, I haven’t used any proxies. I live in Amsterdam, ZIP code 1101. Vodnir (talk) 02:38, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They don't have ZIP codes in Amsterdam, just fyi. -- asilvering (talk) 02:41, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering, Yes, Amsterdam does have ZIP codes. In the Netherlands, postal codes are five digits and usually refer to a specific street or neighborhood, not the whole city. The code 1101 corresponds to part of Amsterdam. Vodnir (talk) 02:45, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may find our articles, ZIP code and Postal codes in the Netherlands, illuminating. -- asilvering (talk) 03:05, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering,
Thank you for pointing me to those articles. To clarify, in the Netherlands we use postal codes, and the code 1101 is indeed a valid postal code for part of Amsterdam. For reference, here is an external source confirming this: https://www.worldpostalcodes.org/l1/en/nl/netherlands/profile/postcode/1101 Vodnir (talk) 03:37, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As a long-time patroller and experienced administrator, I would appreciate it if you could take a look at my talk page..
Thank you. Vodnir (talk) 02:53, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vodnir, please do not ping unrelated editors to your talk page while blocked. While you're blocked, you have talk page access for the sole purpose of requesting unblock and discussing that. (Have either of those editors ever even interacted with you before?) -- asilvering (talk) 03:00, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering: Vodnir and I have recently conversed at User talk:GoingBatty#Clarification and feedback request. GoingBatty (talk) 03:04, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering, Yes, I have interacted with many editors, including administrators and patrollers. Just two days ago I was trusted with rollback and pending changes rights, and today I stopped a damaging edit to protect an article. Despite these constructive actions, I was accused unfairly and blocked. My contributions have always been in good faith. Vodnir (talk) 03:18, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vodnir: While I've been active in many ways on Wikipedia, I haven't been involved in the process of investigating sockpuppetry. GoingBatty (talk) 03:02, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@GoingBatty, I understand your point about not pinging unrelated editors, but I felt I had no other choice at that moment to ask for help.
I want to note that just today I stopped a damaging edit to protect an article. Despite this constructive action, I was blocked without any questions or chance to explain. This feels unfair, because my contributions have always been in good faith and aimed at improving Wikipedia.
I also submitted an unblock request, but it was rejected without any explanation. The many hours I have spent every day writing and improving articles have been ignored.
Please review my contributions. I respectfully ask for reconsideration of this block, because my only intent has always been to contribute positively to Wikipedia. Vodnir (talk) 03:08, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
GB cannot reconsider the block. Only a checkuser can. You were blocked for sockpuppetry. I have declined your unblock request because it is clear to me that you are a sock (and are not in Amsterdam). Your best route to being unblocked is the standard offer. -- asilvering (talk) 03:12, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering, @GoingBatty,
I already clarified my situation. I could have chosen not to mention where I live, but I did so honestly. Regarding the “ZIP code” wording, I explained that in the Netherlands postal codes are used, and this was simply a matter of phrasing, not deception. Sharing location details is also a matter of personal privacy.
I have not made any mistakes or tried to mislead anyone. In fact, some time ago I myself reported sockpuppetry cases at the administrators’ noticeboard. I never expected that after spending so many hours every day contributing to Wikipedia in good faith, I would be blocked so easily and accused unfairly. Vodnir (talk) 03:24, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering,
Thank you for your suggestion. But does this mean my constructive contributions are being ignored and I must remain blocked for six months, even though I have stopped damaging edits and worked to protect articles?
Please take a moment to look at how many articles I have created and expanded. I have dedicated my time to improving Wikipedia without expecting anything in return. My only goal has always been to contribute positively and in good faith. Vodnir (talk) 03:32, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. -- asilvering (talk) 03:50, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering,
Please treat me with fairness. I have been loyal to Wikipedia and dedicated significant time and effort here. I have created and expanded many articles, and I have worked to protect content from disruption. This commitment should not be disregarded, and I ask that my contributions be recognized rather than dismissed. Vodnir (talk) 03:54, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vodnir: I believe the explanation "Pop quiz failed" means that @Asilvering believes you are not in Amsterdam because of your use of the phrase "ZIP code" instead of "postal code". GoingBatty (talk) 03:14, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@GoingBatty,
Thank you for clarifying. Yes, the phrase “ZIP code” was simply a wording choice, not an attempt to mislead. In the Netherlands we use postal codes, and 1101 is indeed a valid postal code for part of Amsterdam. I only mentioned this detail honestly, and I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.
https://www.worldpostalcodes.org/l1/en/nl/netherlands/profile/postcode/1101
As an experienced mentor and editor from whom I have learned a lot during this time, I would also like you to know this reference. Vodnir (talk) 03:49, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also the technical data. But yes. -- asilvering (talk) 03:50, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering,
I have told you the truth, and you are an administrator. In just four months I have made more than 3,600 edits and created six articles that reached B‑class and C‑class quality. I ask you to view me with fairness. The New Year is approaching, and this continued block does not feel like a fair recognition of my dedication. Vodnir (talk) 04:00, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering,
I want to share something personal. For four years I fought cancer, and coming to Wikipedia was both a way to learn and a way to serve. I have dedicated a great deal of time here, and I ask you to reconsider. Please understand that my commitment is genuine. Despite my personal struggles, including cancer, I have continued to contribute. My faith in Christ gave me strength, and I know everyone has their own beliefs. I only ask that my dedication and loyalty to Wikipedia be recognized fairly. Vodnir (talk) 04:10, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
